He was born in March 2, 1942 making him 79 years old to be turned 80 in March 2nd. His initials E.A. stands for Enouch Adejare. So his full name is Pastor Enouch Adejare Adeboye from Osun state. He began his education career from Ilesha and went to the University of Nigeria Nsukka but ended up graduating at the University of Ife (which is now Obafemi Awolowo University) because of the Civil war. He furthered his study by obtaining a master's degree in the university of Lagos and a PhD. He finally ended up being a professor of Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos.
Apart from his exploits in the education sector, he is well know for his giant strides in ministry. He joined the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) as a translator under Pa. Josiah Akindayomi in 1975. He was a lecturer at the university of Lagos but decided to resigned for full time ministry when he was made the General Overseer of the redeem Christian church of God (RCCG). The fame of the Church skyrocketted under the leadership of Pst E.A. Adeboye. The church has its presence in 196 nations of the world as at 2017. With over 14 million members in Nigeria. His vision is to plant a Redeem church within every 5 minutes walk in developing nation and 5 minutes drive in developed nations which has helped captured a lot of souls for christ today in the world. His church in Lagos has almost a 100,000 members.
Pst Adeboye resigned from leadership in 2017 due to non-profitable legislation of serving for 20years and less than 70years of age.
He is married to Folu Adeboye, he is a father of four (three boys and one daughter). With several grandchildren.
