Alternative Federal University

The Academic Staff Union of university have been on strike for over 9 months now leaving many students at home idle. An idle man they say is the devil's work shop. Some have taken the time to learn a skill while majority are confused hoping to when the government universities is going to resume academic activities. Well hangout has found one which even functioned in  the face of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The National Open University of Nigeria, it's not a private university, it's a federal University recognize in Nigeria. It doesn't operate like the conventional university. It operate an ODL (Open and Distance Learning) system of learning. One is not limited to coming to a geographical location before he or she could be enrolled in the University. You could be anywhere and apply to the University and attend your lectures and test (quizzes) online.

One interesting and perfect thing that was experience during the lockdown was the introduction of Exam on demand. One could be in the comfort of his/her home or office and take his/her semester exams. All you need is to demand the exams with an electronic form telling the institution that you have the necessary resources to take the examination and malpractice is well monitored.

As soon has we had a little ease on the lockdown, they conducted the physical exams taking extra precautions with the covid-19 guidelines. Now the time table for another examination is already out. Before exposing it on this post, I like to talk about something I like us to check out affecting some of our hangout fan that board the plane. It's a sharp pain in the ear, it occur when one ascend of descend the airplane. Check it out, it's called Ear Barotrauma.

Well that's just by the way, the exams was scheduled for 5th of January early next year. Here is the time table.
