Koma people (Adamawa State)

 It is shocking that we still have in Nigeria people who cover themselves with lion-skins and fresh leaves in this century, this is located among the Koma people of Adamawa State. A little description about the state and how to get to the community in Nigeria is highlighted above. The men are more receptive to wearing contemporary cloth than the women. As a way to welcome there visitor, they tend to share their wives with their guest. This is erroneously believed among the Tiv people of Benue State in Nigeria. These could be an accent practice but a Tiv man could be very violent in protecting there wives and such act does not exist. The little myth would be explored when we talk about the Benue people but let me just site it here before one could comment if it's true or false. It is believed that when a man is old and wants someone to take care of him in old his age, he goes and marry a younger lady, but because he does not have the strength to sexually satisfy his new wife, he sometime present his wife to a younger guest so she does not burn in marriage; as I said it is still a myth and yet to be verified.

The Koma people have an average of 400 people per village and their main occupation is in rearing animals.



Just like the killing of twins among the Efiki people, the Koma people also see giving birth to multiple children as abominable. The mother of the victim and the children are buried alive but thanks to civilization, this practice is been abolished among some villages in Koma but rumours has it that it is still in vogue in some part of the villages.





They are also know with the tradition of farting like the monkeys on occasion of public dancing ceremony. This act is usually done by the Koma medicine men, and they have the ability of prolonging the fart for hours. When their anus is irritated from prolong fart, it is soothed with healing powder.

Ovia Osese is a festival celebrated Annually by the good people of Ogori in Kogi state. Since this blog is about hanging out, I need to give a little description on how to get to Ogori from Abuja. If you’re driving with a comfortable speed, getting to Ogori shouldn’t take more than 3 hours. You go through Gwagwalada, straight down to Abaji which we know it’s still a local government under FCT. Then one get to kogi state. If you’re scared of meeting new people,  you better consider other hobbies rather than hanging out. If one ask around, one would locate the town Ogori. The Ovia festival was heard this year the 19th of May, 2019. The festival is celebrated to welcome young female maidens to womanhood.
