Gurara falls

Abuja officially called AMAC (Abuja Municipal Area Council) a local government of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the city capital of Nigeria. People aroud the environs loves to associate themselves with it. Places like Marraba, Suleja, Zuba etc. This places are neighbouring places from another state close to the Federal Capital just like Otta and Shagamu is close to Lagos and people sometimes mistake it for Lagos but they are located in Ogun state. So is Suleja where the Gurara falls is located. Suleja is a place in Niger State very close to Abuja like the Zuma rock.
Abuja is know for rocks like the Aso rock nevertheless, Zuma rock which is one of the most unique rocks (It has a face of a human), is often confused to be located in Abuja but it is located in Niger State. Abuja don't have a lots of streams/rivers save the Gwagwa stream that just came in mind. The government had to make Dams for recreational purposes. Dams like the Usman Danfodio Dam, Jabi Dam etc.

The Gurara falls happened to be a river located in Gurara village. Its falls is almost 30 Metres in height almost half of the construsted kainji Dam ( 65M high) the oldest source of electricity in Nigeria. The river would have broken the conception of the fact that Abuja has no big natural river but unfortunately, it is not located in Abuja. The gurara falls was named after two deity Gura and Rara. The river was discovered by a Gwari (pronounced gbagi) hunter called Buba in 1745. It was been worshipped until the Europeans discovered it as a recreation centre in 1925.
If you find yourself in Niger state and you're looking for a site to hangout try Gurara falls. It's alone Suleja-Minna road.

The falls is one of the tourist attraction in Nigeria. After hanging out, don't forget to leave a photo as comment.
