Agodi Garden

The best place to enjoy wildlife in Nigeria is in Ibadan. May not be like the east Africa safari but we have lions scattered all around the city. Though it’s the biggest city in west Africa (in Land mass). As we said in the last post about University of Ibadan zoo garden, Agodi garden also have a record of a lion killing humans. A lion killed a man who he’s know by his alias, baba olorunwa which lead to it’s shutdown. But now it’s up and running in a big way.

Agodi garden also called Agodi botanical garden (city with one of the first generation university must sound academic) existed since 1967. It was first called Agodi zoology and botanical garden divided into sections for adult and children. It is a 150 acre land for picnic and tourism.

One good thing about Ibadan is the technology of OPay. When you find yourself in Ibadan, and you want to locate a place, all you need to do is get on your mobile phone. Download the app called OPay. It’s available on android and iOS devices. Select ORide and pick the destination you want to go; this time Agodi Garden is the destination.

Before now, one have to pay the sum of 500 Naira like the UI zoo garden to enter but now it’s free courtesy GQ lounge one of the hottest lounge in Ibadan. The children section has a pool and inflated  balloon section. I believe the pool still attracts a sum of N500 to use.

The garden as said was created in 1967 and was later destroyed by a flood which took most of the animals away in 1980. It was later re-established by the Oyo state government in 2012 and was reopened in 2014. Another episode happened in 2017 the lion attack which was said earlier but it’s opened again and fun like no other.

Jumia and other malls have spoken about today as Black Friday it’s usually the best days to shop for the Christmas holiday. Looking for where to get best picnic and swimming outfits for the holiday at very affordable price, then take advantage of the discount you get from Jumia Black Friday today. Today I got a SMS from OPay that my ride to anywhere in Ibadan would be N10. Don’t miss out of the fun today. It’s hangout Friday.
